Haida people speak out against the latest form of colonialism

(via Margaret Atwood, tweeter extraordinaire!) Two ways of talking back. It's not just the Gateway Tar Sands Pipeline project that they resist; that's just the latest manifestation of colonialism. "The land of Haida Gwaii is threatened by the building of a giant pipeline and the arrival of oil tankers. Two brothers take matters into their own hands to find a solution, and end up getting some supernatural help from Raven." haidagwaiicoast.ca A Haida Councilor tells the stories and speaks about the impact of the pipeline on the Haida land and people, and all people. The story she tells is the story of colonialism, of occupation, of despoiling of the land and displacement of the peoples.
